23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec:
The military oath is a commitment by soldiers to the state and a source of their moral strength. Pursuant to the Act of 3 October 1992 on the military oath, every soldier of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland takes the military oath.
“The banner of a military unit symbolizes the highest values: sacrifice, honor, love of the Homeland and its freedom. The military oath is one of the most important and solemn events in the life of every soldier—in the life of each of you. Its content and form have changed throughout history, but its essence has not. The solemn act of the pledge made by a soldier binds him to the story of the Polish Army, for better or worse,” said the commander, Colonel Marek Wasielewski.
A delegation of four cadets was honored with the privilege of taking the oath on the unit’s banner:
- private cadet Kamil Syzdek,
- private cadet Bartłomiej Woźniak,
- private cadet Kamil Gortych
- private cadet Marcin Kowalik.
During the ceremony, the unit commander, Colonel Wasielewski, honored the following soldiers with letters of commendation for achieving very good training results:
- private cadet Mateusz Kobak,
- private cadet Marcin Kowalik,
- private cadet Krzysztof Złotowski,
- private cadet Karolina Zolich.
The musical accompaniment was provided by the Military Band from Żagań. The solemn oath was the final element concluding the training and opening the possibility for the soldiers to be called up for professional military service, and thus serving in the ranks of the military units of the “Black Division.”
