The incident occurred on January 31. “At around 4 p.m., officers from the Traffic Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica, while on duty on the A4 motorway, noticed two vehicles stopped in the right-hand lane in the direction of Zgorzelec. The officers questioned the drivers about why the cars had stopped in the lane,” reports Deputy Inspector Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters. “According to the men’s accounts, the 44-year-old, driving a Fiat Ducato, entered the motorway without yielding to a Scania traveling along it.

The vehicles did not collide because the truck driver managed to brake in time. It turned out that the 44-year-old Fiat Ducato driver was drunk, with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his breath.

The man was detained. He could now face up to two years in prison.
