We are still struggling with the consequences of the pandemic. That is why Lower Silesian police officers continue to conduct preventive and inspection activities aimed at monitoring compliance with the restrictions in force. Services responsible for preventing the spread of the coronavirus epidemic and monitoring compliance with the introduced rules inspect, among other places, large retail stores, food-service establishments and clubs, as well as gyms and other locations where violations of the law may occur.

People and entities that knowingly and deliberately violate these regulations must expect legal consequences.

Weekend inspections carried out by police officers and representatives of the sanitary inspection service revealed further irresponsible behavior by both organizers of meetings in clubs and their participants. Superintendent K. Rynkiewicz:

This weekend, officers in Wrocław intervened with people running service establishments who had opened their premises and organized social gatherings there. The organizers explained to police officers in various ways why their premises were open. In view of this, and in accordance with the regulations in force, police officers prepared the documentation necessary to refer the case to court, which will ultimately decide on further action. In such cases, requests are also submitted to sanitary services to impose administrative fines on the organizers of events and their participants for gross violations of the applicable sanitary and epidemiological regulations. The fines may amount to as much as PLN 30,000.

Officers also intervened in Głogów. Provincial Police Headquarters:

We remind you that, in accordance with the regulations still in force:

  • The operation of cultural institutions, including theaters, cinemas, museums, art galleries and community centers, is suspended.
  • A maximum of five people may participate in public gatherings, and participants are required to cover their nose and mouth and maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from other people.
  • The operation of places such as nightclubs, discos and other venues made available for dancing is prohibited.
  • The operation of restaurants for on-site service is prohibited. Only services involving the preparation and serving of food for takeaway and delivery are permitted.
  • Hotel operations are restricted.
  • The operation of swimming pools, water parks, gyms, clubs and fitness centers is suspended.
