City Hall officials:
The Municipal Police monitors the area around the schools and the adjoining grounds. If irregular situations are noticed, officers respond by dispatching a Municipal Police patrol or reporting them to the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
Where are the cameras?
Cameras for external monitoring have been installed on the buildings of all primary schools in Bolesławiec:
- Primary School No. 1 – 2 cameras,
- Primary School No. 2 – 2 cameras,
- Primary School No. 3 – 2 cameras,
- Primary School No. 4 – 2 cameras,
- Primary School No. 5 – 1 camera.
The cost of purchasing the cameras, together with the recorder and installation, amounted to PLN 61,869. The funds came from the budget of the City of Bolesławiec and were allocated to counteracting alcoholism and drug addiction as part of the implementation of the Municipal Programme for the Prevention of and Solving Alcohol-Related Problems and Counteracting Drug Addiction.
The City Hall adds:
The primary aim of installing external monitoring is to combat the illegal trade in and possession of psychoactive substances whose use may lead to drug addiction. These measures are also intended to ensure a safe environment for pupils if older students return to in-person schooling.
It is worth recalling that classes for pupils in Grades 1–3 begin on 18 January.
