– Lower Silesian police officers identified a location where various types of waste had been stored without the required permits. The actions carried out by officers from the Economic Crime Department of the provincial police headquarters and Bolesławiec police officers showed that a large number of containers and barrels containing substances posing a threat to the environment were stored on one property – reports Superintendent Kamil Rynkiewicz from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

He adds:

At the site, it turned out that the suspect had stored a total of 177 mauzer-type containers and steel barrels on four semitrailers and directly on the ground; some of them had leaks. They contained liquid, semi-liquid and solid products in the form of solvents, paints, resins and varnishes, in an amount estimated at more than 110,000 litres.

Representatives of the Provincial Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Wrocław were informed of the incident. The 47-year-old Bolesławiec resident, the owner of the company on whose premises the hazardous substances stored without the required permits were found, was detained. He is suspected of transporting and storing substances that could pose a threat to life, health and the environment. He could face up to five years in prison.
