The commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Colonel Marek Wasielewski, thanking the soldiers for their efforts in carrying out tasks during the previous year, discussed the main directions of training and methodological activities for the year that had begun:

Another year of training as intensive as the previous one lies ahead of us. We will begin this year of hard work by forming the 15th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan; this task will be carried out mainly by soldiers of the 3rd Rocket Artillery Squadron. For us artillerymen, this will also be a year of intensive training and exercises at training grounds, including those involving reserve soldiers, among them the 1st Self-Propelled Artillery Squadron and the 4th Rocket Artillery Squadron.

At the same time, we will take part in exercises conducted by our superiors and carry out training for subsequent intakes of preparatory service. Today I know that there is no chance of any pause for all of us. The year 2020 ended with many successes, of which you were the authors, as our superiors have repeatedly said. I know you, and I know that together we will meet every planned or unplanned challenge. You have repeatedly proved that I can count on you.

The unit's first personnel formation of the year provided an opportunity for the ceremonial presentation of weapons to the recruits of the first preparatory-service intake. This soldier's attribute will accompany them throughout the training period conducted at the 23rd Artillery Regiment.

In response to the words, “On behalf of the Republic of Poland, I present you with this weapon,” the recruits of the training company proudly replied, “For the glory of the Fatherland,” as they received their weapons from the regiment commander, Colonel Marek Wasielewski. “This is one of those exceptional moments that remains in a soldier's memory for a long time. Intensive training now lies ahead of you, culminating in the military oath—a day every soldier remembers for the rest of their life,” said the commander of the Bolesławiec artillerymen.

The start of training for preparatory-service recruits was preceded by an instructor-methodology course, during which platoon and squad commanders of the Preparatory Service Training Centre improved their organizational and methodological skills.
