Intensive operational efforts by Legnica law enforcement officers, lasting just a few hours, led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man suspected of causing the accident. At the time of his arrest, the man was carrying drugs in the form of marijuana.
Moreover, the arrested man was under the influence of methamphetamine. He will now face charges for causing a serious accident—the seven-year-old suffered severe injuries—not providing assistance to the injured girl, and possessing drugs. He faces a severe penalty.
At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica and police officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health, the court remanded the 34-year-old suspect in custody for three months.
