The accused man ran a fuel depot in Jelenia Góra, where he employed people to work as guards. Four mixed-breed dogs resembling German Shepherds were supposed to work with them. The accused’s improper treatment of the dogs, as well as his abuse of them, caused the dogs to attack one of the guards on September 28, 2019, resulting in his death.
The owner of the fuel depot was accused of exposing four employees to the risk of loss of life or serious bodily harm and of unintentionally causing the death of one of them. He was also accused of abusing four dogs and violating social insurance regulations.
The accused did not admit to committing the acts of which he was accused.
The alleged offense carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment.
