The incident occurred on Tuesday, 5 January, on provincial road 363, beyond Warta Bolesławiecka (towards Iwiny). Before 4:00 p.m., the bus driver, a 40-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, lost control of the vehicle and hit an Opel travelling properly, driven by a 23-year-old from Złotoryja County.
As a result of the collision, the bus overturned onto its side. Both drivers, who were travelling alone, were taken to hospital. Fortunately, neither suffered any serious injuries. The person responsible for the collision was fined.
Volunteer firefighters from Warta Bolesławiecka reported on the incident:
[…] at approximately 3:45 p.m., we were dispatched to a serious-looking road accident on provincial road 363 in Warta Bolesławiecka. Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that a bus had collided with a passenger car; fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus, only the driver. Two people were injured and transported to hospital.
