Lower Silesian officers stopped three shipments of a petroleum-based substance on the A4 motorway and national road A5 from Wrocław to Poznań. The transport had not been reported in SENT. A total of 78 tonnes of the petroleum-based substance were secured. X-ray equipment was used to detect the petroleum-product tanks.

The drivers were fined PLN 7,500, while the carrier faces administrative penalties.

Since January 2020, more than 210 tonnes of petroleum-based substances have already been uncovered in Lower Silesia.

KAS reminds the public that the Act of 9 March 2017 on the system for monitoring the road and rail transport of goods and the trade in heating fuels (SENT) imposes an obligation to report the transport within the territory of the Republic of Poland of certain goods, including petroleum products, tobacco, alcohol and medicinal products, as well as to monitor transport using GPS technology. Failure to submit a report, irregularities in a report and failure to activate a geolocation device are subject to heavy financial penalties.
