It is best to call the hospital and ask whether it is necessary to come in; a teleconsultation may be available. For the appointment, bring an identity document and medical records, if available, and have a list of the medications taken regularly. At the hospital, wearing a mask and disinfecting your hands before entering and after leaving is strictly required.

“The hospital operates on an on-call basis; this does not mean that it is closed,” says Artur Nahorecki. “We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all departments that provide on-call services are available. During the holidays, night and holiday medical assistance and the Emergency Department operate for people in life-threatening conditions; additionally, consultants from the hospital departments are available,” informs the hospital’s deputy director.

What about sick children? Initially, children will be seen by a doctor as part of the night and holiday healthcare on-call service. It is best to call beforehand, as only individual people are allowed into the hospital. The doctor will examine the child and decide whether hospitalization is necessary or whether the child can be treated at home.

Night and holiday healthcare services are provided Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following day, and on Saturdays, Sundays and other statutory non-working days from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following day.
These services are free of charge for insured persons, provided without a referral, and are not linked to the doctor with whom we are registered.

Night and holiday healthcare provides emergency, temporary and immediate assistance to the necessary extent, but it does not replace the comprehensive, full care and treatment provided by a family doctor during the opening hours of the Family Clinic.
