Professional soldiers in the corps of professional non-commissioned officers and professional privates may be awarded qualification classes corresponding to the level of their military and specialist training, in accordance with their assigned positions.

During the two-day examinations, several dozen non-commissioned officers and privates from the Bolesławiec garrison and other units of the 11th Armoured Cavalry Division had to demonstrate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills specified in the detailed criteria for obtaining qualification classes. The examinations were taken by specialists from the personnel corps of the land forces, logistics, communications and information technology, military engineering, and the general personnel corps in the personnel group.

On the first day of the examination session, the candidates had to face a theoretical section covering general military training. The examination included topics in tactics, marksmanship training, reconnaissance, protection against weapons of mass destruction, communications, terrain studies and medical training.

On the second day, theoretical knowledge and practical skills in specialist subjects were assessed. During this stage of the examination, the soldiers had to demonstrate skills related to their military specialty. Passing the examination required achieving at least an overall good grade, as well as positive grades in all components of the theoretical and practical sections.

Qualification classes are one form of professional self-improvement for privates and non-commissioned officers. Privates and non-commissioned officers serving in a position in a given military specialty for at least two years may apply for the 2nd and 3rd classes.
