The incident took place on the night of December 6–7, 2020. Three perpetrators attacked the victim in the parking lot of a currency exchange office in Szczytnica (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality). District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra:
The attackers grappled with and restrained the man, and also threatened him with objects resembling a firearm and a stun gun. The victim was deprived of money and other items worth approximately PLN 4,000.
Investigators add:
Using the bank card taken from the victim, together with its PIN, the attackers subsequently withdrew a total of PLN 2,000 and purchased alcohol for nearly PLN 500.
The identities of the aggressors have been established. Paweł M. was arrested and brought before the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, where he was charged with robbery and breaking into an ATM. In addition, M. was charged with possessing significant quantities of drugs. The Prosecutor’s Office:
During a search of his apartment, police officers discovered more than 126 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of amphetamine, and more than 275 grams of narcotic substances in the form of cannabis herb other than fiber hemp and hashish.
At the request of investigators from Bolesławiec, the court ordered the man’s three-month pre-trial detention. Intensive measures are under way to establish the whereabouts and arrest the remaining perpetrators of the robbery. All three face a sentence of between two and as many as twelve years in prison.
