Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters detained a 39-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County after a chase. – The driver failed to stop for an inspection after exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 km/h – reports junior inspector Wojciech Jabłoński from the Lower Silesian Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – He then began fleeing from the patrol, committing more than 30 traffic violations.

The 39-year-old repeatedly exceeded the speed limit, crossed an intersection on a red light, crossed double solid lines, drove across two lanes, blocking the road, and overtook at an intersection and a pedestrian crossing. The spokesperson said: – On a section of road undergoing repairs, he overtook using the roadside ditch, then caused a collision and drove against traffic on a roundabout.

When the vehicle belonging to the resident of Zgorzelec County was immobilized, the driver locked himself inside. As a result, the police had to smash the window and forcibly pull the man out. There was also a female passenger in the car.

They added:

It turned out that the 39-year-old had fled because he was not licensed to drive, the car was not authorized for road use and had no insurance, while the registration plates came from another vehicle.

Both the police officers and the prosecutor have no doubt that the driver’s behavior created a danger to land traffic.

The resident of Zgorzelec County could now face between six months and as many as eight years in prison. The proceedings in the case are being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
