Police command duty officers received a report of the theft of automotive items from one of the petrol stations in Zgorzelec. (The perpetrator used tear gas against a security guard who tried to stop him.) Criminal investigators took over the case.

Several hours later, officers from the “Nysa” group stopped a Mercedes van for inspection in the Zgorzelec municipality. During the intervention, it turned out that the vehicle’s cargo area contained a Simson moped stolen from one of the petrol stations in the municipality.
She added:
Additionally, the 33-year-old driver was wanted by the justice system to serve a sentence of two years and six months in prison.
The 33-year-old was detained. His accomplice was subsequently apprehended by the officers. The latter was charged with both stealing the moped and robbery theft at the petrol station. The first detainee could face between three months and five years in prison. The second could be imprisoned for as long as ten years.
