The incident occurred on Saturday, December 12, before 3:00 p.m. The fire service was dispatched to smoke in a residential building in Gościszów. Officers from OSP KSRG Nowogrodziec:
According to residents, smoke was coming from the boiler room. A thermal imaging camera indicated 150°C in one location. We carried out demolition work there.
The firefighters added:
After the plasterboard was removed, it was found that a ceiling beam had been scorched and was still smoldering [...]. After dousing the fire sources and conducting another inspection with a thermal imaging camera, no danger was found.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. The fire was probably caused by a failure of the electrical installation.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Nowogrodziec (2 units) and Gościszów took part in the operation.
