The funeral of the late Zbigniew Bożęcki will be held on Thursday, November 26 at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Trzebień. It will begin at 12:00 p.m..
Let us recall. On Saturday, we reported that firefighter and councillor Zbigniew Bożęcki had died. He lost his battle with coronavirus.

It is with great sadness that we announce that on November 20, 2020, the late Brother Zbigniew Bożęcki passed away.
Brother Zbyszek was a member of the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Branch of ZOSP RP, President of the Bolesławiec County Branch of ZOSP RP, President of the Bolesławiec Municipal Branch of ZOSP RP, and above all, President of the Board of our unit. Despite running a business, he was actively involved in community work in many areas of local life. From 1990 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2007, he served as a councillor of the Bolesławiec Municipality; he was also a long-standing member of the Parish Council of the Parish of the Holy Cross in Trzebień. In recent years, he was also artistically active—he was a member of the much-loved “Retro” cabaret from Trzebień. He was also passionate about caravanning—he very often travelled with his wife in their motorhome, visiting Poland as well as European countries. He initiated and organised many local projects. And for us, for nearly 30 years, he was above all a much-loved and trusted President of the Board of the Volunteer Fire Department in Trzebień.
Zbyszek was valued by everyone with whom he had any contact. In the firefighting community, all volunteer and professional firefighters from Bolesławiec County knew and respected him. He stood out for his great composure and high level of personal culture. He never refused anyone any kind of help.
For his many years of community service, he received the following distinctions: in 2006, the Union’s Gold Badge; in 2010, the Bolesław Chomicz Honorary Medal; and in 2014, the Bronze Badge of Merit for Fire Protection.
Only recently, during the September session of the Bolesławiec Municipal Council, he and his wife Władysława received an award for Long Marital Life. His family was the most important thing to him, followed by his passion for the fire service.
We extend our sincerest condolences to the grieving family of Brother Zbigniew.
Brother President, we still had so many ideas to put into practice. You always said that we would manage. We will miss you very much, but we are convinced that you will find your place on the other side. You will surely join the ranks of the knights of Saint Florian and continue to support us in our work “from up there,” just as you did until today. You will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
