On Thursday, November 12, Bolesławiec police conducted the “Speed” operation, aimed at improving safety on the roads of the city and county. Officers checked 84 vehicles and issued the same number of penalty fines (including 80 for speeding and 4 for failure to wear seat belts).
Police remind drivers that excessive speed is one of the most common causes of road accidents, while seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Half of the people killed in road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of the collision. Moreover, failing to wear a seat belt is an offense punishable by a PLN 100 fine and 2 penalty points.
