Police officers from the Zgorzelec police headquarters, operating as part of the “NYSA” group, together with colleagues from the prevention division, found the quad bike in a forest complex in the Pieńsk municipality. – As it turned out, the vehicle had been stolen from the trailer of a truck parked at one of the petrol stations in the Zgorzelec municipality. The victim valued the quad bike at PLN 37,000 – reports junior asp. Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
He adds:
As a result of the operational and procedural actions undertaken, officers identified and arrested a man suspected of committing the crime. The 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County has already been charged with stealing the recovered quad bike. In addition, the man will be held responsible for driving vehicles twice in violation of court-imposed bans.
The suspect is a repeat offender who has previously been convicted of property-related crimes, so he now faces up to 7.5 years in prison.
