Regiment: – Due to the prevailing epidemic situation in the country and the restrictions in force, the ceremony was held with fewer people than usual and was closed to the public – without the participation of the families and loved ones of the cadets taking the oath.
Col. Marek Wasielewski, commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
Over the last four weeks, you have worked hard, acquiring the necessary knowledge that will form the basis of your military ABCs. You decided to try military life, experience the rigors of military service, and take the first step toward professional military service. Today, after passing your final examinations, you stand here to take your first military oath – an oath on the colors of the military unit, a symbol of wartime glory and tradition, as well as loyalty, honor, and courage.
The words of the military oath, “I, a soldier of the Polish Armed Forces, swear to serve the Republic of Poland faithfully…” were spoken by 112 preparatory-service cadets. The honor of taking the oath on the colors was bestowed upon: Private Cadet Patryk Petrous, Private Cadet Grzegorz Urban, Private Cadet Tadeusz Ambrożewicz and Private Cadet Michał Miziniak.
After the oath was taken, the youngest students of the military craft received a blessing from chaplain Major Maciej Śliwa. Speaking on behalf of the soldiers taking the oath, Private Cadet Grzegorz Urban thanked the regiment commander and the preparatory-service training staff for their support and kindness during their first steps in military life, while wishing his fellow soldiers perseverance and success in pursuing their future life plans.
The regiment commander presented letters of commendation to four soldiers who achieved the highest results in training and discipline: Private Cadet Cyprian Jujeczka, Private Cadet Grzegorz Urban, Private Cadet Damian Zieliński and Private Cadet Michał Nowicki.
The ceremony concluded with a parade of subunits.
