The operation by soldiers on the grounds of the Border Guard Specialist Training Centre in Lubań is ongoing. “We have detected more containers with a tear gas substance,” says staff warrant officer Radosław Mazur, commander of the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment. “These are training agents used during the First and Second World Wars.”

In addition to the containers with the aforementioned tear gas substance, the soldiers also found rifle ammunition and artillery fuses.

The personnel from Bolesławiec are continuously checking the grounds of the centre. As staff warrant officer R. Mazur explains, the aim is to ensure that the area remains as clean as possible, both chemically and in terms of unexploded ordnance.

The operation by the Bolesławiec bomb disposal specialists in Lubań will probably not end until Wednesday.
