On the route from Bolesławiec to Zgorzelec, near the village of Zebrzydowa, two passenger cars collided. The accident could have ended tragically, as a truck was driving a short distance behind one of them. The TIR driver, trying to avoid hitting the wrecked cars, veered into a ditch. The Bolesławiec fire service took part in the rescue operation. One person was trapped in a wrecked car, and freeing them required specialist equipment. The injured person was taken to hospital.
Another serious accident occurred near the village of Okmiany. A truck driver, merging onto the motorway, failed to yield the right of way and caused a collision with a passenger car. The passenger-car driver was taken to the Bolesławiec hospital in serious condition.
