As reported by the istotne.pl website, Brig. Andrzej Śliwowski, the district commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, one of the firefighters contracted the coronavirus outside of service.
In accordance with procedures, the firefighters are divided into teams so that they do not come into contact with one another. As the commander assures, at present there is no risk that the Bolesławiec firefighters will be unable to perform their duties; the duty shifts are staffed.
The firefighters appeal to people to maintain their distance from uniformed personnel during interventions. (And this is not because one of the firefighters may be infected, but so that they do not contract COVID-19 from someone. Otherwise, there could be a risk that JRG Bolesławiec would cease to function normally).
What is more, if someone calls requesting an intervention and is infected or in quarantine, this information should be immediately passed on to the uniformed personnel.
