On October 7, Bolesławiec police officers received as many as 8 reports of attempted police-impersonation scams. KPP Bolesławiec:
The 78-year-old woman said that on October 7, a woman claiming to be a postal worker called her with information about overdue letters. The following day, October 8, a man claiming to be a CBŚP officer also called her landline.
The alleged officer asked about the telephone conversation from the previous day. He told the senior that the woman who had impersonated a postal worker was operating as part of a criminal group.
Officers:
The fake police officer said that the 78-year-old might be under surveillance and asked about her bank account. When the woman said that she had no money in the bank, the call ended.
Another senior woman informed Bolesławiec police officers that she had also received telephone calls over two days. The first concerned a package with an incorrect address and the need to provide additional details, while the second call was supposedly from a police officer warning her about scammers. The officers said: “When the caller said that she would call her police unit to confirm the information, the call ended.

Every subsequent report concerned a very similar modus operandi. However, each caller approached the questions with great suspicion and did not provide any information about their finances; they informed the Police about what had happened.
The officers add:
The Police do not inform people about such actions and do not take money for safekeeping. Let us not remain indifferent: warn our relatives and ensure the safety of our parents and grandparents.
