The incident occurred during the night of September 30 to October 1. KPP Lwówek Śląski:

During a patrol of Mirsk, police officers from Gryfów Śląski noticed a [marki] Fiat Punto that accelerated upon seeing the police car. The officers decided to investigate the reason for the driver's nervous behavior.

The officers signaled the driver to stop. However, he continued fleeing. At one point, he turned onto an unpaved road. He drove along it for several hundred meters and... drove into a river. The vehicle stopped there.

It turned out that a 26-year-old resident of Lubań County was behind the wheel. He was traveling with four friends from Lwówek County (from the municipality of Mirsk).

The man did not have a driving licence. What is more, it emerged that he was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine. He could now face between three months and as many as five years in prison.
