The National Influenza Prevention Program recognized local governments that were most involved in implementing health projects focused on influenza prevention. This year, 17 Local Government Leader titles were awarded. The local government units were honored in two categories:

  • New Leader – for local government units that entered the competition for the first time and implemented an influenza prevention program in 2019
  • Leader in Innovation – for units implementing a health program for a group other than older people.

Bolesławiec was among the winners of the “Local Government Leader of the National Influenza Prevention Program” initiative. Andrzej Żuk, Andrzej Żuk, chair of the Health, Family and Social Affairs Committee of the Bolesławiec City Council, accepted the prestigious “New Leader in Influenza Prevention” distinction on behalf of Bolesławiec.

This year, as part of the health policy program, the “Preventive Influenza Vaccination Program for Residents of the Urban Municipality of Bolesławiec Aged 65 and Over” is being implemented. The program provider was selected through a competition. The winner was the “Lekarz Domowy” Pieszko General Partnership clinic.

Influenza vaccinations will be administered after the agreement with the program provider is signed, at the clinic at 21a Dolne Młyny Street in Bolesławiec.
