On Tuesday, 13 October, the final gala of the 2009 Teacher of the Year competition was held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Among those attending the ceremony were, among others, the director of MZS No. 2 Kornel Filipowicz and teacher-librarian Teresa Prokowska.
During the ceremony, the nationwide Innovative School 2009 competition was also decided, with Municipal School Complex No. 2 in Bolesławiec taking second place.
The diploma was presented to representatives of the award-winning institution by: Lilla Jaroń, deputy minister of education, Jakub Rzekanowski, editor-in-chief of “Głos Nauczycielski”, and Jan Polak, manager of Microsoft’s Partnership for the Future program. MZS No. 2 will soon also receive material prizes: an interactive whiteboard, a multimedia projector and a laptop.
The Innovative School competition aims to honor institutions that are open to new technologies and actively operate in virtual communities.
