Officers from the Bolesławiec Economic Crime Unit, working with officers from the Customs and Tax Control Department in Zgorzelec, carried out further operations aimed at combating illegal gambling.
Police Inspector Wojciech Jabłoński from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław:
Based on the information gathered, the officers identified a location where a gambling arcade might be operating. After entering the premises, the services seized four gambling machines worth nearly PLN 50,000.
And he adds:
The machines were handed over to tax control officers, who will now conduct further proceedings in the case. The seized machines contained games of chance operated for commercial purposes, for which an operating license is required, as is necessary to run a casino.
Let us recall that under the Fiscal Penal Code, organizing gambling in breach of the law is punishable by up to three years in prison.
