The incident occurred on September 22. The duty officers of the Border Guard Post in Wrocław-Strachowice received information about a passenger who, on board a plane arriving from London, was refusing to follow the crew’s instructions.
“The man did not respond to instructions issued by the crew or the aircraft captain, thereby posing a threat to flight safety. The disagreement was caused by the passenger’s refusal to put on a mask and complete the passenger locator form,” says Border Guard Major Joanna Konieczniak, spokesperson for the Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit.
She adds:
After the plane landed at Wrocław Airport, specialized Border Guard officers from the Special Intervention Team, trained to conduct operations aboard aircraft, boarded it. The 45-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was escorted off the plane in handcuffs.
The passenger admitted that he had failed to follow the aircraft captain’s instructions. Although he later decided to complete the passenger locator form, he was still fined PLN 300 for violating aviation law.
