Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

Due to the implementation throughout the country of a uniform numbering plan based on the new telecommunications network prefix of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration—47—the method of dialing and routing calls to the ministry's landline telephones subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, including the Police, has changed.

The 47 prefix should be treated as a uniform area code for the ministry network across the country, dialed instead of the previous area code in individual geographic numbering zones. Telephone numbers for individual headquarters have changed for calls made from public networks, both landline and mobile. They are now identical to those previously used only within the ministry's internal network.

The officers add:

A telephone number beginning with the 47 prefix, preceded—depending on the operators—by Poland's international prefix, +48, will appear on the displays of phones belonging to people whom police officers or officials call from ministry numbers.

Due to the scale of the implementation and the need to gradually phase out existing contracts with public network operators, as well as its importance for the operation of Police units, a six-month period is planned during which the previously used local numbers will continue to function in parallel.
