The first day of the field exercise was fairly standard: it was devoted to organizing the camp and included a series of training sessions on safety rules, an occupational health and safety briefing OHS and training with the Military Police.

Over the next several weeks, the soldiers will train at OSPWL Wędrzyn, and the training promises to be very intensive. The armored soldiers face a number of challenges. The initial period is devoted to preparing for platoon certification. Practical exercises will include, among other things:

  • conducting convoys and patrols and organizing checkpoints
  • base security and VIP protection operations
  • procedures for dealing with detained persons
  • training involving improvised explosive devices
  • and many other training activities that will prepare the soldiers as thoroughly as possible to perform tasks outside the country.

A key, if not the most important, element of the training is live-fire training, which alternates with tactical exercises.

The certification of the security platoons will be a three-day undertaking aimed at checking the coordination of the individual elements at this level. The highlight will be the national certification of the entire contingent, which will verify its readiness to carry out its designated tasks in Afghanistan

The first week of tactical and live-fire exercises is already behind the soldiers from Świętoszów. The level at which the tasks are being carried out is high, and the full commitment of the soldiers of the 13th rotation can be seen at every step.
