A new building is being constructed in the green area next to the Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej in Bolesławiec. It will house an infectious diseases ward with 65 beds. Earthworks on Zwycięstwa Street in Bolesławiec are nearing completion. As Bartłomiej Dudek, the construction manager, reports, the installation of 28 modules is due to begin next week. Consequently, traffic disruptions can be expected on Zwycięstwa Street. (We will provide details on an ongoing basis).
Let us recall. We already covered the subject at the end of July. The new infectious diseases ward is to be ready later this year. The cost of its construction is PLN 6–7 million.
What will this achieve?
The hospital management and the county authorities want to be prepared for a second wave of the epidemic. Thanks to the separate ward, it will not be necessary to close the entire facility again. What is more, patients who do not have coronavirus will not have to “feel the breath” of COVID-19 patients on their backs.
