The incident took place overnight from September 13 to 14. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:
At 2:47 a.m., we were dispatched to a fire on the premises of the former brickworks in Nowogrodziec. When we arrived at the scene, we found former utility buildings on fire. We deployed two water jets to attack the fire, and additional personnel and equipment were called in. After bringing the flames under control, we began demolition work.
They added:
During the intervention, we encountered a truly unusual situation: someone set fire to a pile of tires 100 metres from the scene. The firefighters from the Zebrzydowa Volunteer Fire Department extinguished this fire by deploying one water jet to attack it. Police officers who arrived at the scene are carrying out investigative procedures.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The operation lasted more than two hours and involved firefighters from Nowogrodziec, Czerna, Zebrzydowa and Bolesławiec, as well as the police.
