The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 8, after 1 p.m. The duty officer at the Bolesławiec police station received a report of alcohol theft and an attack on a security guard.

Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. They established the circumstances of the crime and obtained a description of the perpetrator.

Police:

Intensive searches of the city by operational services led to the suspected perpetrator being arrested after a foot chase.

The arrested person is a 17-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra who had escaped from a juvenile center in Lwówek Śląski.

Police findings indicate that the teenager stole two bottles of alcohol worth 110 zlotys from one of Bolesławiec’s supermarkets. When the security guard intervened, the teenage aggressor struck him several times with a bottle.

Investigators had no doubt that the 17-year-old juvenile offender had to be isolated. Therefore, at the request of the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, the court ordered pretrial detention for the suspect for a period of three months.

The teenager now faces between one and as many as ten years in prison.
