At 08:00, the ceremony commander, Lt. Col. Renart Skrzypczak, reported to the commander, Brig. Gen. Rafał Kowalik, that the subunits were ready for the ceremonial assembly. General:

For us Poles, the military oath is an important part of our national tradition. It is an inseparable element woven into the history of the Polish Armed Forces. Centuries ago, the warriors of Mieszko I and Bolesław the Brave, as well as the knights of King Władysław Jagiełło preparing for battle against the Teutonic Knights on the fields of Grunwald, swore the oath.

One oath that went down in history was the one Tadeusz Kościuszko swore allegiance to the nation by in the Main Market Square of Kraków’s Old Town.

Over the course of history, the wording of the oath and its form changed, but its meaning always remained the same. The military oath that the soldiers of the training company are about to take is an act of rich and profound meaning. It imposes on soldiers the duty to defend independence and the borders, as well as loyalty to the Republic of Poland

Next, representatives of the reserve soldiers who were honored by taking the oath on the standard stepped forward from the formation and, together with everyone else, recited the words of the Military Oath.

There was also a speech by a parents’ representative:

Taking an oath of allegiance to the Homeland in the presence of us—parents, relatives, friends and superiors—is a moment that will remain forever in our minds and hearts.

Representative of the soldiers taking the oath:

As future soldiers of the Republic of Poland, we have the great honor of training under the guidance of the best unit, the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. We promise that we will make every effort never to tarnish the Brigade’s good name, and that we will make the best possible use of the knowledge imparted to us, bearing witness to courage, bravery and patriotism. Let us remember that the military is our future, just as we are its future.

In addition to the solemn oath, orders appointing soldiers to a higher military rank and announcing distinctions were read at today’s assembly, including the Honorary Badge of the Land Forces, the Commemorative Badge and the Honorary Ring.

At the end, the soldiers sang the Representative Song of the Polish Armed Forces and were then regrouped for the parade to the sound of “Warszawianka.”
