The new website of the “Forum” cinema www.kino.boleslawiec.pl is functional and easy to use. “We have something to be proud of. The website is just as good as those of multiplexes, the schedule is equally interesting, and even more ambitious, while the prices are lower,” says Iwona Bojko, manager of the Impresariat and Promotion Department of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre (BOK).

When entering the website, visitors can quickly get an overview of the cinema-theatre’s extensive offering. The website features a clear schedule listing currently screened films, theatre performances and concerts. There is also an offer for individual and group customers (schools and companies), as well as for film enthusiasts—participants and members of the Discussion Film Club.

“The website is clear, fast and functional, with no unnecessary elements,” explains Krzysztof Gwizdała, owner of Istotne Informacje. “Everyone should immediately be able to understand where everything is and how to reserve a ticket. Contrary to appearances, creating something so simple is not easy—you have to carefully consider what people expect from such a website, then design and build it properly. We also made sure that the website would work even if something happened to the cinema’s main computer. The schedule will always be available,” adds Krzysztof Gwizdała.

“The ‘Forum’ cinema-theatre is very important to us,” says Ewa Lijewska, director of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, Ewa Lijewska. “Modernising this facility was my priority. We already have a modern auditorium and equipment; we needed an online seat-reservation system to better serve our customers. We serve not only residents of Bolesławiec County. Customers come to us from Lubin, Zgorzelec, Lwówek and Głogów. In the last six months, 23,000 viewers have visited the cinema,” says Ewa Lijewska.

The “Forum” is a first-run cinema. In October, the animated film “Up” is being screened; next month there will be two hits: “Michael Jackson’s. This Is It.” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”.

Ewa Lijewska explains that the cinema’s success is primarily the result of Iwona Bojko’s work. “It is thanks to her efforts that we have a current schedule, and her cooperation with distributors results in the most interesting titles. Establishing the cinema’s first-run status is mainly her achievement,” the BOK director emphasises.

“The ‘Forum’ cinema offers a high standard of service at a lower price than large cinemas,” says Iwona Bojko. “However, we are not a strictly commercial cinema. As a cinema belonging to the Network of Studio Cinemas and providing film education through the ‘New Horizons’ programme, we screen films of the highest artistic calibre. We can also compete with large cinemas on price. Tickets cost PLN 16 here, while at multiplexes they can cost more than PLN 20. In addition, tickets for screenings for young people before 3:00 p.m. cost only PLN 11.”

“The only thing we were missing was a proper website,” says Bojko, “along with a ticket-reservation system integrated with it. Now we are prepared, both substantively and technically, to provide professional service to the most demanding customer.”
