Danuta’s husband, Jacek Sudół, is raising money for his wife’s treatment. Read their story:

Danusia turned 41; she is my wife and the mother of our three children. Friday the 13th (!) of March 2020 turned out to be the worst day of our lives.

Danusia got up and was getting ready for work when she suddenly fainted. At first, resuscitation efforts were carried out at home together with the children; shortly afterwards, an ambulance arrived. After nearly an hour and a half of rescue efforts and stabilising her heart function, she was taken to the emergency department in Bolesławiec. The initial diagnosis was acute respiratory failure! Two days later, the doctors spoke of sepsis. In the meantime, she was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit in Bolesławiec to Legnica, where she remains to this day.

She was kept in a medically induced coma for more than three weeks. After she was woken, it turned out that there was no contact with her and she did not respond to commands. Then came another diagnosis: anoxic brain injury!

At present, we are waiting for a C-Eye (Cyber-Eye) examination. Rehabilitation is also needed because muscle contractures have developed. Oxygen therapy would be very helpful. We are also considering a hyperbaric chamber, which might help rebuild brain cells. For now, however, this is logistically impossible.

Danusia and all of us now face hard work, but we are not giving up and we will not give up!

We are certain that Danusia will not give up either. She continues to fight against adversity and time. We still believe that Danusia can regain her abilities.

We are asking for your help. We are convinced that one day Danusia herself will be able to thank all of you personally for your support! Thank you in advance for every bit of help! Best regards, Jacek.
