Within the past 24 hours, as many as three drivers were taken off the roads of Bolesławiec: a 37-year-old whose driving privileges had been revoked and who was driving a Citroen; a 44-year-old Opel driver with an active driving ban; and a 35-year-old man who got behind the wheel of a Volkswagen despite having his driving privileges revoked and being subject to a court-ordered ban.

The officers add:

We remind you that failing to comply with a court-ordered driving ban is a crime under Article 244 of the Criminal Code and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison, while driving a vehicle despite a decision revoking one’s driving privileges is, under Article 180a of the Criminal Code, punishable by up to 2 years in prison. (Of course, the high financial penalties must also be taken into account.)

All the drivers will answer for their actions before the court.
