On the eve of the holiday, at 9:00 a.m., acting chief of staff Maj. Olaf Talarowski reported to acting commander Lt. Col. Marek Lewandowski that the subunits were ready for the ceremony.

After the national flag was raised and the Dąbrowski Mazurka was played, the commander read a letter from Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak:

We are the descendants of great heroes who achieved victory over the Red Army, thereby bringing the difficult process of rebuilding the State to a close. The victory confirmed the patriotism, steadfastness and courage of the heroes who did not hesitate to shed their blood for their homeland.

Next, the decision of the Minister of the Interior and Administration to award the “Meritorious for Fire Protection” badge was read out, along with decisions and orders promoting soldiers to higher military ranks.

It was a very special day for the soldiers who were promoted. This was also due to the fact that the commander of the Świętoszów Brigade, Col. Rafał Kowalik, received his general’s appointment from President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.

That day also marked the thirteenth anniversary of the death of 10th Brigade officer, the late 2nd Lt. Łukasz Kurowski. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the fallen officer.

The ceremony concluded with a march-past by the subunits.
