Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:

Railway crossings are places where common sense and caution are particularly important. Statistics in Poland are alarming: every year, several dozen accidents occur at railway crossings, and unfortunately, many end tragically. Knowledge in this area is extremely important and should be shared with all road users.

The officers add:

That is why, once again, last Thursday, from the early morning hours, police officers together with the Railway Protection Guard supervised railway crossings in Bolesławiec. The aim of the activities was to raise awareness of the dangers resulting from a lack of caution at crossings and to promote appropriate attitudes and behaviour.

The officers spoke with drivers about STRICTLY obeying traffic lights, lowered barriers and the “Stop” sign. Police:

Let us remember to stay safe at railway crossings, because it is up to us whether we reach our intended destination.
