At the 23rd Artillery Regiment, military training for students began as part of this year’s “Academic Legion” programme. On Saturday and Sunday, more than 200 student volunteers were inducted at the Bolesławiec unit. Over the following days, they will acquire military skills as part of the basic module and, after completing it, the non-commissioned officer module. Each of them will undergo twenty days of intensive practical training, held from Monday to Saturday, for eight hours a day, under barracked conditions.
The students’ training began with a ceremonial assembly on Monday, 10 August. During the ceremony, students representing the training platoons received weapons from the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Marek Wasielewski, the attribute of a soldier and a tool for maintaining the security and sovereignty of the Homeland.
“I warmly congratulate you on taking up the challenge of the training that began today. I wish you perseverance in acquiring soldiers’ skills, and I hope that in the future you will join our unit, as well as other units of the Polish Armed Forces,” said the commander of the Bolesławiec artillerymen.
After the performance of the “Representative Song of the Polish Armed Forces”, the subunits began their scheduled training.
