Over the next few days, the air temperature will exceed 30 degrees in the shade.
How to survive a heatwave?
- avoid going outside during the hottest part of the day (10:00–17:00)
- avoid excessive sun exposure and sunbathing
- use sunscreen
- do not leave children, animals or flammable materials in the car
- wear loose, breathable clothing covering as much of the skin as possible; wear a hat and sunglasses
- drink plenty of fluids regularly
- avoid drinks containing alcohol and sugar
- eat light meals, paying particular attention to the freshness of the ingredients
- avoid physical exertion
- take cool showers and baths. (A completely cold shower during hot weather can cause thermal shock)
- avoid large temperature differences between air-conditioned rooms and cars and the outdoor temperature
- close and cover windows during the day
- stay in the coolest room in the house, especially at night
- look after animals. Do not expose them to excessive sunlight, ensure they have unlimited access to drinking water, and ventilate the rooms where they stay
- monitor your body's reactions during hot weather. If you feel unwell, consult a doctor.
