The entire incident took place on Wednesday, July 29, at approximately 10:00 p.m. The driver of a Daewoo, a 48-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, first caused a collision on Modłowa Street in Bolesławiec and then left the scene.

He did not get far, however. In Łąka, he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and crashed into a tree.

The impact was so severe that the man was trapped inside the car. Officers pulled him out of the Daewoo.

The 48-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. His condition is critical.

Police are investigating the circumstances of both incidents.

Volunteer firefighters from Trzebień on the accident:

A passenger car carrying only the driver crashed into a roadside tree for unknown reasons. The firefighters’ actions at the scene consisted of securing the area, freeing the injured person from the wreck using hydraulic tools, handing the injured person over to the emergency medical rescue team, and applying one stream of water to the vehicle’s engine.

Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Trzebień, as well as police officers and an emergency medical rescue team, took part in the operation.
