District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec:

This is another stage in the process, carried out by the headquarters, of replacing protective clothing with uniforms made in accordance with the latest standards, based on a design using materials with high performance parameters.

The newly purchased clothing consists of 3 parts:

  • trousers
  • jacket
  • the so-called lightweight jacket. (It can be used to protect rescuers during operations in open spaces, e.g. while removing the effects of road accidents or extinguishing grass or forest-litter fires).

A single set of a firefighter’s protective clothing currently costs more than PLN 3,500. District Headquarters of the State Fire Service:

The replacement of the uniforms began in 2018, thanks to the Modernization Programme for Uniformed Services. In 2018 and 2019, a total of 25 sets of clothing were obtained, and their purchase during that period was financed from funds received under the modernization programme and from the headquarters’ budget.

In 2020, the purchase of another 16 sets of uniforms was made possible by funds from the Modernization Programme for Uniformed Services, the headquarters’ budget, and support totaling PLN 24,000 from external institutions under the Support Fund of the State Fire Service.

Firefighters:

This year’s support for the firefighters consisted of financial donations from:

  • Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ–SYSTEM S.A. in Warsaw – to co-finance the purchase of protective clothing for firefighters as protection against infection with the COVID-19 coronavirus
  • Bolesławiec Forest District – to co-finance the purchase of protective clothing
  • Złotoryja Forest District – to co-finance the purchase of protective clothing.

Headquarters: – It should be added that, during their daily service, firefighters frequently come into contact with injured people and other users of vehicles or properties where rescue operations are carried out. In view of the above, as well as the current epidemiological situation, firefighters’ uniforms are often washed or disinfected to prevent rescuers from becoming infected. Unfortunately, more frequent washing and disinfection of uniforms also contributes to their increased wear. The purchase and cyclical replacement of uniforms therefore significantly improve the safety and hygiene of firefighters’ service, while also increasing the level of safety for residents of Bolesławiec County.

The firefighters add:

On behalf of the firefighters of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, we thank the listed entities for their very valuable financial support.
