First, one scooter was recovered. Police secured the property lost as a result of the crime from a man who had bought it from the suspects two days earlier. They then arrested a 29-year-old man who was staying in Bolesławiec. During a search of the premises temporarily occupied by the perpetrator, police recovered the second scooter.

Further actions by the officers led to the arrest of the second perpetrator—a 31-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. He had methamphetamine on him. Moreover, it emerged that he was wanted because he had to serve a six-month prison sentence for previous offences against property.

The suspects explained to the officers that they had stolen the scooters because they did not feel like walking. The 29- and 31-year-olds could now face between three months and as much as five years in prison.
