On Wednesday, July 15, criminal investigators from Lwówek Śląski decided to check a private property in the Mirsk municipality. “Police officers suspected that an illegal cannabis plantation might be located there,” reports senior constable Olga Łukaszewicz of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. “During a search of the residential and utility buildings, as well as the area around the property, officers discovered 32 cannabis plants in a significant growth phase and 300 g of dried material, from which more than 4,000 retail portions of the drug could be produced.
In addition, a staggering PLN 135,000 in cash was found at the site.
The 53-year-old property owner was detained. The spokesperson said: “The evidence gathered in the case made it possible to charge the suspect with illegally cultivating cannabis plants and possessing a significant quantity of them. The man will face criminal liability for violating the provisions of the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction.
She added:
Polish law provides for up to eight years in prison for this offense.
