Statement:

With reference to the Decision of the State District Sanitary Inspector dated 15 July 2020 (ref. HK511-2-1/MSN/20) concerning the suitability of water for consumption at the Raciborowice Górne water treatment plant, the Municipal Services Department in Lubków informs that the requirements for the questioned microbiological parameters are set out in Part C, Table 1, item 1 of Annex 1 to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 7 December 2017 on the quality of water intended for human consumption (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 2294) and are as follows:

  • coliform bacteria count – 0 CFU/100 ml, although individual bacteria, fewer than 10 CFU, are permitted provided that E. coli and enterococci are tested for and their presence is ruled out. The above was also established in the sanitary inspection’s decision in question. The test conducted by the State District Sanitary Inspector detected (only) 8 CFU/100 ml of coliform bacteria, while enterococci and Escherichia coli bacteria were absent.

Regardless of the above actions by the District State Sanitary Inspector in Bolesławiec, the Municipal Services Department in Lubków stopped supplying water from the Raciborowice water treatment plant as early as 8 July this year and began flushing the system. On 13 July, water tests were carried out at the Raciborowice intake, which detected no coliform bacteria at the Raciborowice Górne water treatment plant. The Municipal Services Department in Lubków continues to carry out remedial measures.

In view of the above, the Municipal Services Department in Lubków—acting in accordance with the relevant decision of the State District Sanitary Inspector dated 15 July 2020—asks residents of Raciborowice Górne to exercise the necessary caution in these circumstances and to boil water before using it for consumption, preparing meals, washing and eating fruit and vegetables, brushing teeth and washing dishes, and bathing newborns.

Yours faithfully,
Radosław Palczewski
President of ZGK in Lubków sp. z o.o.
