The incident took place on Friday, July 10, after 10:00 a.m., at the 52nd kilometre of the A4 motorway (towards Zgorzelec), near the village of Krzyżowa in the Gromadka municipality. Three vehicles collided: two trucks and a van.
It is already known that the 45-year-old Russian truck driver probably failed to pay attention. When the driver of the truck travelling ahead of the Russian braked, the foreign national swerved left to avoid rear-ending the truck and struck a van travelling correctly. As a result of the collision, the other truck was also damaged.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The person responsible was fined.
The operation involved firefighters from Bolesławiec, members of the Volunteer Fire Department in Różyniec, as well as a police patrol.
