Officers from the Police Station in Leśna received a report about an intoxicated woman who had been pulled from Lake Złotnickie after someone threw her into the water. A police patrol immediately went to the scene.
– The reporting person said that, while kayaking on Lake Złotnickie, he noticed a woman drowning. The witness rescued her and safely towed her to the shore – reports asp. szt. Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubań. – At one point, a man approached the officers conducting the intervention. As it turned out, he was the perpetrator.
The officers’ attention was drawn to his irrational behavior; they detected the smell of alcohol on him. They tested him with a breathalyzer. The man had nearly 3 parts per thousand of alcohol in his breath.

The injured woman joined the intervening officers and confirmed that her husband had pushed her off a pedal boat and then left without providing her with assistance. The smell of alcohol was also detectable on the woman. At that point, the intoxicated husband directed his aggression at the police officers and insulted officers carrying out official duties.
The 47-year-old resident of Lwówek County was detained. He was charged with exposing his wife to the risk of loss of life and health and insulting officers. The prosecutor’s office placed him under police supervision.
The man could now face a prison sentence of between three months and as much as five years.
