The incident occurred on July 4 at approximately 9:50 p.m. in Grudza (Mirsk municipality, Lwówek County). “According to the preliminary findings of the police officers working at the scene, a 23-year-old Opel driver struck a 47-year-old man who was travelling along the narrow roadway,” reports Senior Constable Olga Łukaszewicz of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. “The Opel driver was sober at the time of the incident. The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, are now thoroughly clarifying the circumstances of this tragic incident.”

We remind and appeal to all road users to exercise particular caution on the road. Lower speed increases the chances of survival.
We also remind pedestrians to wear reflective elements. After dark, a pedestrian wearing dark clothing is visible to a vehicle driver from a distance of approximately 20–30 metres. A person equipped with reflective elements can be seen from a distance of 150 metres.
